Il più alto onore che Dio possa tributare ai suoi figliuoli è il serto macchiato dal sangue del martirio. I veri gioielli di un cristiano sono le sue pene; gli stendardi di quelli che Dio ha fatto re sono le loro difficoltà, le loro sofferenze, i loro affanni.  Dolori e afflizioni ci elevano.
